1. What "Today Advisor Verified" Means
When you see a Today Advisor Verified badge on a company profile, our verification team has, on a best-effort basis, reviewed one or more of the following documents submitted by that seller:
- Goods and Services Tax (GST) registration for India-based sellers;
- Import Export Code (IEC), where applicable;
- Certificate of Incorporation, LLP registration, or equivalent business registration document for overseas sellers;
- PAN or equivalent tax identifier;
- Government-issued identity of the primary business representative;
- Website and business email domain consistency checks.
Our review confirms that the documents submitted appear consistent with a real, currently-registered business and that the seller's name, address, and category on the Platform match the documents.
2. What Verification Does NOT Guarantee
The Verified badge is not a warranty, endorsement, or guarantee of any of the following:
- Product quality — that goods will match samples, specifications, or images shown on the Platform;
- Delivery performance — that orders will be shipped on time, in full, without damage, or via the agreed route;
- Financial reliability — that the seller will honour refunds, credit terms, warranties, or after-sales commitments;
- Business conduct — that the seller will behave ethically, communicate transparently, or refrain from disputes;
- Regulatory compliance in the destination country — that goods can be legally imported, sold, or used at the buyer's location;
- Ongoing status — that the underlying registrations will remain valid indefinitely, or that a business will not be suspended, dissolved, or become insolvent after verification.
Verification is a point-in-time documentary check. It is not a factory inspection, a financial audit, or a background check on individual directors.
3. Recommended Buyer Due Diligence
Buyers are strongly encouraged, in addition to trusting the Verified badge, to:
- Request and review physical or digital product samples before placing bulk orders;
- Ask for references from existing customers, ideally in your market;
- Start with a smaller trial order to validate quality and shipping;
- Use secure payment terms (letter of credit, escrow, staged payments) rather than large advance payments to a new supplier;
- Verify export documentation, product certifications, and destination-country compliance for your specific use case;
- For higher-value engagements, commission a formal Today Advisor Business Audit for deeper on-ground verification.
4. Optional: Today Advisor Business Audit
For an added layer of comfort, our Business Audit service can perform a deeper review of a supplier — including confirmation of premises, production capacity, and reference checks. Audit deliverables are documented and scoped in the service agreement at the time of booking. Please review the service page and our Refund Policy for scope, timelines, and fees.
5. Reporting Concerns
If you believe a Verified seller has provided false documents, misrepresented themselves, or engaged in fraud, please report it immediately at /support or by writing to trust@todayadviser.com. We take reports seriously, will investigate, and may revoke the badge, suspend the account, and cooperate with lawful authorities where appropriate.
6. Legal Effect
The Verified badge does not create any contract or warranty between Today Advisor and the buyer or seller in relation to any transaction between them. Today Advisor's liability in connection with the Verified programme is governed by our Terms of Service, in particular the sections on Limitation of Liability and Buyer-Seller Transactions.
This document is a general policy provided by Today Advisor for our B2B marketplace. It is a strong drafting starting point and is not a substitute for legal advice. We recommend a review by a lawyer familiar with Indian e-commerce and marketplace regulations before accepting real payments in your jurisdiction.
